Game of Waste (USA)

5:00 PM
Drama Shorts 8A

Director: Stephen Knudsen and Karla Knudsen

"Game of Waste" is a short narrative about a hunter who faces the jury of his own taxidermy in what might be called the longest hibernation. It is a decidedly unusual courtroom. The hunter has taken the life of his dog and his own life with the same firearm that has been the instrument of his violent pastime. Published author and Irish Poet Finn Mac Eoin narrates his own poem,as a second outside protagonist in this poetic tale based on a true story. It is filmed in the Beautiful Luberon Valley, France in a Bergmanesque formal language. It moves through cedar forests and rich natural soundscapes.
