Film aficionados will not want to miss the rare showing of his early works that established the director’s fame with innovations in film editing, storytelling, and soundscapes (including some very early synthesizer scores). Screens with another of the director’s psychedelic industrial films: Petrol (1965).

Hugo Niebeling, created a radical, Oscar© nominated, editing style that predated, influenced, and informed the 1960's experimental underground, helped created the modern music video, and later on, revolutionized the filmed symphony. In 1972, Niebeling locked horns with legendary conductor Herbert von Karajan who took away an innovatively filmed and edited symphony performance of Beethoven's Eroica and re-cut the film showing mostly close-ups of himself conducting. See the never before seen original, an innovative and psychedelic vision, in the directors cut of Eroica. Screening alongside the Karajan re-cut version that was released to the public in 1972. Compare the difference for yourself. Screens with Pastorale (1965).

In the City is a modern day noir set in Los Angeles. The story centers on a series of tense encounters between Raul, a working-class Latino artist, and Jenny, an affluent Asian banker. While seemingly opposites, both characters are trapped in their own way. Raul is crippled with an impossible debt to a violent loan shark, Rico, as he struggles to support his 10-year-old son, Carlos. Jenny, on the other hand, is stuck in a loveless relationship with a rich older man, Mark, as she vainly attempts to break free of his control and assert her independence. In the City is not your typical thriller but a story of repressed desire, spiritual anguish, and the dark, constraining forces of the city.

The Ouroboros an ancient symbol depicting a serpent or dragon eating its own tail. Carl Jung interpreted the Ouroboros as having an archetypal significance to the human psyche. Erich Neumann writes of it as a representation of the dawn state, depicting the undifferentiated infancy experience of both mankind and the individual child. This feature takes a look at that symbol.

Julia slept in this morning, but she has an excuse - yesterday the love of her life proposed! Her diamond ring sparkles, life is perfect, but she can't stop looking at the ring. Something is wrong with it. She needs to take it off, but it's stuck - It's stuck to her! As she desperately tries to remove it, she notices her neighbor, a teenage girl, sitting in the backyard. This encounter with a teen spirit forces her to confront the idea of marriage and growing up.
