Dominate (USA)

Director: Kateryna Kurganska Gorbanov

“Dominate” is a five-and-a-half-minute dark comedy about an abused woman who finds empowerment through a very unlikely and strange occurrence at a hair salon. The feminist movement and support are dominant themes here. Inspired by one of my favorite Directors, Pedro Almodóvar, and His ‘Cinema of Women.’ My goal was to show how vibrant and full of life the female world is, no matter what we, strong women, face. In this short film, you can see how beautiful life is — no matter what. With its color palette and weirdness and dark sense of humor are. My characters are locked in the sweet bitterness of life.
